A Quick Word

I know that things get nasty on this site, but I have a different experience here.
I enjoy coming here, I enjoy the exchanges with my fellow writers, look forward to reading new posts and actually miss folks when they aren't about for whatever reason.
Everybody that had been missing turned up over the last few days, (no word from HIG, but she's been to see Moz, so I hope we hear how that went SOON, ahem, HEEEEY, how was the show?!??!)
Anyway, I just wanted to take this space to say how much I appreciate all of you!
I think you're lovely.
Now, I'm blushing.

I just read that Moz said the perfect world for animals is one without humans...
I wonder if he thinks we should all kill ourselves for the benefit of animals.
I'm not sure I'd be consuming any Morrissey sanctioned refreshments at his shows.
He must look upon every disgusting human he lays eyes on with such disdain and contempt.
I'm not going to ponder it beyond this, I know how he uses the extreme to make a point.
It's a technique.
Good grief.
I used to say that kind of shit when I was 15.
whatever.

I have the urge to post soon, I think...

Although I agree with most of Morrissey's views, the way in which he goes about expressing them these days seems full of hate rather than of love, and if you want the world to evolve to a state of love, then love is what you've got to radiate outwardly. If that makes sense. I'll always love him and he is a kindred, but where once I used to hear love in his voice now I only hear disdain. And it puts me off. It's a bit like narcissist personality disorder, but he is capable of empathy so it rules that out...it's almost like he's too much of an empath to the point of absorbing all that's wrong in the world and harbouring it inside, instead of letting it go and doing what is in his means to make his own personal world better. I don't know. I don't spend time with him! So it's all impressions with question marks.

It is very good to see you back!
Yeah, I have been saying for a while, I really thought he was nicer than this. But, like you say, it does seem he's absorbed too much of the reality and lost that gentleness to a cynic.
Too bad, really. But, it's a natural consequence of being shat upon from a great height. I totally understand.
He spends too much time alone and the people he allows in his life don't ever cross him, because then they are no longer, "in his life" after that, I would imagine!
Oh well, I didn't fall in love with his sensible stance on reality.
hahah
obvs.
Looking forward to reading what you write!!
What on earth have you been up to?

Huge amounts of nothing, haha. Just trying to chill out after a period of dealing with trying to socialise in this strange world. Reading and making time for some sketching :) Sometimes I feel too naked when expressing my thoughts online these days.

I keep my social engagements to one interesting thing a month.
That way, I don't freak out and hide for six months trying to recover. I delete more than I write, and I write on here a bloody LOT! I will say what I want and then read it fifty seven times and then ctrl+a, ctrl+del.
Sounds like some good quality YOU time!
I was just plotting a craft or painting something tomorrow.
I plot lots of things that never materialize, though.
ewww, there's twilight creeping into my window.
time to crawl in the coffin.

Welllllll
How waz it?

It was lovely. He was lovely. When he asked what the sign read, you should have seen his face. "Is it nice??" I certainly didn't feel any hatred coming from him last night, anyway. I think these images and videos we're made to sit through are there because he's tired of people looking the other way. He can write and sing lyrics all day long, but people won't change until they see the destruction and the decay played out before them. It's so easy to close our eyes to it all. He has a platform, so he uses it. It makes people uncomfortable. But one thing that i love about Morrissey, and it's one of the most important reasons, is that he stands up while others stay seated out of fear of being rejected and ridiculed. The Morrissey of yesteryear is most definitely still there. Yes, he's changed, but I wouldn't associate the word hate with him at all. He just wants a better world free from people who do all they can to destroy it. But, we all observe differently. Have different opinions, etc. I never thought Morrissey was all flowers and poetry, anyway. Not all of him. He was capable of killing you with a slight paper cut in 1983...

But, anyhoo...I wrote all about it in the Durham thread. Page 4, I believe :)

Much love!

My seem out of context, but it was th first thing that popped into my head. I read an interview with the FBI agent in charge of debriefing sadam Hussein. The FBI agent broached the subject of his sons and some of the atrocities they had committed. Sadam stated he would not talk about them. They were his sons and no matter what they did he couldn't change the love he had for them.

I feel the same about morrissey I guess. No matter how he portrays himself is irrelevant to the feelings I have received over the years through the songs. I really don't care anything about morrisseys life today. He's not directing me anywhere, I am interpreting his words as they have meaning based on my personal experience, which may not actually be his or his intended message.

Thanks, not worried about here, it's just that the internet makes me feel very distracted, and I post more on facebook than I do here, so being a minimalist and loving simplicity, I just want to focus on one or the other, else I feel too erratic! I think I got journaling out of my system when I posted here between 1999-2004. Now it's just nostalgia more than anything, or just there if I feel the urge to write...

I am happy to be a part of this little niche on the net as well.

As far as Moz's comments regarding humans.... I am very suspicious of human haters. It is the equivalent of a woman hating womanhood. Or a black person despising their blackness. It's self-deprecation in the extreme--miserabilism and nihilism at its finest hour. It is the exact opposite of my world view.

I'm with that.
Totally.

Coolio!
I will go over there and look it up!
I only go over there with a specific destination and a map.
Glad you had a good time,
much love to you too!!

Hiya!
I am pleased to hear things are going well!
Very nice to see you, as always!
I don't let anything he says affect my love for his music.
I just find myself shocked from time to time, but, fortunately, I don't require an alignment of my views and those of the singers or bands I listen to.
I am so accustomed to being on the periphery. I never expect to "align" with anyone or anything.
I am always pleasantly surprised when I agree with something, or even more shockingly, someONE!
lol

miz reality, there's an interesting philosophy called inhumanism that robinson Jeffers came up with. he was an American poet who came to prominence before WWII. Morrissey's comment reminded me of it, although his comment, like most PETA-aligned stuff was for shock value.

you might look into it, you might not lol

I used to be a PETA fag all the way, but now i'm just a run-of-the-mill veggie. PETA's a great resource, but I don't find shock tactics that compelling as an argument. I prefer reason. then again there are people who say PETA means people eating tasty animals, so.... I suppose I can't win either way.....
