A random hike in the east bay. Very nice day to get some climbing done and view the bay. My daughter summed it up best. Good views but not fond of the fire roads. She is such a "single track" runner/hiker girl, just like her dad.
I was reflecting on the kids as I took their pictures today. Sometimes I can't believe it. Just snapping away at my son, on the eve of manhood. It seems like yesterday that he went everywhere with me, attached on my back, sitting comfortably, catching the free ride to where ever we were going. He would reach out and touch the trees leaves, follow the vertices of rock walls with his hands and scrape his fingers into bark as I leaned him closer. He has touched so many trees, rocks, and from my height, as a baby he saw everything we passed from my point of view. In a perspective, he is getting his own point of view now. He still likes the hikes, well, we all do. Life will break up the family soon enough for other responsibilities. Today was just wonderful though.
My wife selfie'ing me as I try to capture the kids not looking as we eat dinner.
