Morrissey A-Z: "You're the One for Me, Fatty"

They weren't bad songs just slightly throwaway with 'Fatty' the weaker of the 2 for me although I enjoy Gary Day's bass in it. I thought they were the worst 2 songs on 'Your Arsenal' but that was such a brilliant album and they at least sounded like singles.

Alain Whyte FB: reminisces about TV appearances (October 15 -> ongoing)

For me that will always be the classic Moz band and whilst Kill Uncle wasn't his best album, in many ways it was the most exciting time to be a Morrissey fan. I would have loved it if he has pursued the Rockabilly album that was rumoured at the time. Gary Day on double bass is the stuff of dreams.

Morrissey Central "BARRY RYAN dies, aged 72" (October 8, 2021)

Where was Health & Safety when that video was being shot ! Around 1997ish I gave Boz a Paper Dolls LP in exchange for a batch of rockabilly 7". He said he knew just the man who would want that LP.I asked who and he said Morrissey ! He also said that other than one postcard he hadn't heard from...

Morrissey A-Z: "(The) World Is Full of Crashing Bores"

Peak Morrissey. Quarry was a fantastic album.

Morrissey A-Z: "Who Will Protect Us from the Police?"

It's really poor and I don't often say that about a Morrissey track. Very weak both lyrically and musically. Worst song on the album.

    Morrissey A-Z: "Trouble Loves Me"

It was the highlight of Maladjusted back in the day and if anything it gets better with age. Beautiful.

Rick Astley Twitter: Rick Astley & Blossoms perform the songs of The Smiths - 2 Smiths-themed concerts in October (September 14, 2021)

Good luck to them. I don't have a problem with it and count myself as blessed for twice having seen The Smiths. One thing for sure is it's really brought the Morrissey haters out on social media.

Morrissey A-Z: "This Is Not Your Country"

Fantastic song. Amazing how many times times this song title is used as 'proof' of Morrissey's racism by people unable or unwilling to listen to the lyrics.

Just how true is this story?

That isn't true. It all falls down on the 'Morrissey went home and made a cake part'. Now if it was Morrissey went home and made some toast ...... Sorry not trying to be flippant but there is no truth in that.

Morrissey A-Z: "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get"

My favourite ever Morrissey single and my favourite ever Moz TOTP performance. How much fun was Alain Whyte having up there but where was Boz ?

    Morrissey A-Z: "That's Entertainment"

PW championed the Scottish band The Questions and signed them to his Respond label .They supported The Jam on tour. He also gave the Jam B Side 'See Saw' to The Jolt from Wishaw who he was also a big fan of. I think PW in general certainly in the 80's was very grumpy and uncommunicative but...
