"Half A Person" played in Aylesbury, photos from the show

Just a rumor: there may be some more dates this year after Vegas.

From issy and Jeane:

Last night we were treated to 'Swallow' again and, would you believe, 'Half A Person'! What a night...

Photos from the show (4 total) from Ed Moss:

I am a professional photographer and through my job I was lucky enough to photograph Moz at Aylesbury on the 6th December.

I'm setting up a website in the next couple of weeks with lots of pix from the concert on it (be patient as I'm new to the internet).

Enclosed are 4 pics which I hope you will post on the m-solo website as I got lots of requests from fans for pics.

Morrissey on the run?

From Michael Ferry:

A friend of mine recently heard from an apparently reliable source that the police came to the Galway gig with a warrant for Morrissey's arrest, but he had left the building by their time of arrival. Can anybody shed any light on this story or is it indeed a load of hooey?

Cemetry Gates no more?

From Scott Krajewski:

Yes, it's true. Cemetry Gates as you've known it is no more.

It's been reborn as CemetryGates.com. In case you haven't been to Cemetry Gates, let me tell you a little about it.

After five years of sharing information on Morrissey and The Smiths, it finally has a domain name to call its own. Once the only website, and thus the first, Cemetry Gates has evolved to find a niche in the rapidly growing space of fan-run websites. From starting as the only place to find any Moz information on the web, it's become a site that provides unique content (FAQ, MozGuide UK, audio and video downloads), maintains a long list of places to Shop online, and directs fans to other unique sites like itself.

Cemetry Gates has had a long relationship with Recordings Unlimited. It all started with hosting a text version of its catalog online back in the early days of this site. Recordings Unlimited has since grown into a great online store selling many collectibles. To ring in this holiday season and to celebrate CemetryGates.com's birth, Recordings Unlimited will be hosting an online auction that will be accessible only through CemetryGates.com. Many interesting items will be up for auction.

The auction is set to open Friday, December 10. Go to CemetryGates.com and click on the auction link to learn more and enter.

I'd like to thank all the visitors I've had over the last five years and I appreciate all the feedback messages I've received. You Morrissey and Smiths fans are a special bunch of people and I look forward to providing something extra online for you for the next five years!

Scott Krajewski

"Morrissey Gets A Job" coloring book mentioned in SF Weekly (Oct. 13 - 19)

From Brian Brooks:

...thanks for the exposure, your web site led to a write up in the SF Weekly which set me on way to international unsuccess.

Excerpt:

..."That clip art's already sitting there," he says, explaining his creative process. "I feel bad for most of the clip art when I look at it, because it's not going to be used for any good purposes." Some of the results are completely absurd: The Frank Zappa Coloring Book simply inserts the late guitar god's mustachioed face onto bodies that are hiking, playing pool, and skiing Or, even better, there's Morrissey Gets a Job, which places the depressive Smiths singer in workplace clip art of employees shuffling through papers, talking in cubicles, staring at charts, or scowling at each other; the captions come from the Smiths tune "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" ("I was looking for a job/ And then I found a job ...").

Original news item: "'Morrissey Gets a Job' - a coloring book" - Sept. 13, 1999

Morrissey's typewriter on auction

At Yahoo! Auctions, closes Dec. 12:

Morrissey's personal typewriter from before The Smiths which he used to type many letters to pen pals, Smiths lyrics, and the signed letter about the typewriter which comes with the typewriter. Originally auctioned off at Christy's in London back in 1984 but I happened to come across the owner at a record fair in London almost 4 years ago. He just happened to want to sell it. The typewriter comes with a carrying case, the original Christy's auction booklet which lists the typewriter as well as an autographed t-shirt of Our Morrissey holding the typewriter. A one of a kind item.

Moz necklaces for sale

From Daniela:

I finally got up the nerve to splurge and get myself to Vegas for both shows. In order to try and make some of the money back that I've spent, I came up with the brilliant idea of making these MOZ necklaces. They're made primarily of Hemetite, with accents of either Lapis Lazuli (a sharp denim blue), Garnet (a burgundy color) or Lavender Amethyst (a light purple), and will be available in 16", 18" or 20". The letters on the bottom are pewter. I'm asking for $10 each plus $1 for envelope and postage or $3 for priority mail (sorry, I don't know yet how much should be sent for overseas orders). They are really worth more, as these are real stones, but I wanted to make them affordable for everyone. People interested can e-mail me at [email protected], and I will send the address to send cash or money order. I will also send a scan of matching earrings available for an extra $5 to anyone who's interested. I will also be selling them at the Vegas show both days, so to anyone who will be there, please buy one !! :)
