Re: Welcome to the 70s!
When I think 70's I instantly think funk! I just got this mix of a bunch of 70's hit remixed by Larry Levan (of the NYC Peech Boys, kind of like a boogie sort of band in the 80s) who was a pretty well known DJ around the late 70s and later on... anyways... here's a song...
I love them too! They always remind me of how much RuPaul loves them lol... The Ronettes are also cool (and tons of bands use the opening drum hit from this song all the time)
Anyone here fond of girl groups quite like I am? The Shangri Las are one of my favorite groups of all time, I think they were superior to every other girl group at the time, probably because Shadow Morton wrote most of their music (he's worked with the New York Dolls, The Crystals and some others)
This thread title got me excited! Love My Way is definitely a classic, although for some strange reason I could never really enjoy Duran Duran (??? idk why)
You guys are right, it does have sort of the Joy Division sound, and there's nothing wrong with that really, but I still do like New Order's work more as a whole. Anyways, what about Electronic? They were pretty cool, Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr--
I think I know what most of your answers will be (but then again, maybe I don't since I'm quite new here).
Personally, I feel like New Order is just better than JD in every way possible. I just couldn't ever get into Joy Division because they were too boring to me for some reason.. I dunno...
