Probably answered prior but what's the "It lasted 20 years, 7 months, and 27 days" in reference to? Morrissey's deflowering?

I think it's Morrissey's poetic license. He is saying his "awakening" (whatever that was) took a long time. I don't think,however, that the time span he sings about is real. It just sounds good. Nobody,even Morrissey, could count the days away like that.
Though I could be wrong...
