"Autobiography" by Morrissey - reviews and media - part 6

Morrissey's Autobiography Sees Us Paying For His Therapy by Tom Hocknell - Sabotage Times
Sexuality, Manchester, Marr and the press are all covered in Morrissey's much anticipated autobiography, but somehow we end up feeling further from the man than ever.

Morrissey: Autobiography review by Dickie Felton - Getintothis, Liverpool Echo
Morrissey's autobiography stirred a few hornet's nests and proved that bigmouth could indeed strike again, Getintothis' Dickie Felton reviews a tome from the heart and close to his own.

Another fine review from Mr Felton. Dickie understands the fans and the hero. Dickie brings a calmness to the written word. Dickies two books are great additions to the Morrissey world. Well done Dickie. Matt

It seems there is honour among bad writers, just as there is among thieves; from one bad writer, Dickie, to another, Steven.

Dickie is psychologically incapable of seeing the bad in Morrissey and his review is a case study in this peculiar adolescent pop/rock fan affliction. Everything he says is absolutely true and entirely good. Nothing he says is dishonest, cruel, spiteful, pointless or dull. It's all black and white, just like religions, with Morrissey as the deity.

Back in the real world, the book is badly-written, of questionable veracity and unnecessarily self-indulgent. It reveals a fascinating enigma to be, in fact, a boring old sod.

I doubt you know much about the real world. You're a far worse writer and much more boring.

"Autobiography. It might be better called Audacity. Or Badly Edited, as this book could be half the length and twice as good."

Deffo.

"Beatlemania seems tame by comparison"

*rollseyes*

"Someone find a torch, street lighting is absent as the childhood years seem played out in complete darkness. There's no swinging sixties here. But the large Irish family Morrissey belongs to is one of absolute love. The warmth of the Dwyer/Morrissey clan won't fail to move you."

I'm sure his family did/do love him and he just exaggerated his teenage dramas to sell records. Very clever, but bogus.

Seriously, why are you here? I've seen a few trolls around the web, but I do believe your kind of obsessive negativity combined with your sense of mission and delusions of significance is unique in my experience.

"why do you come here? when you know it makes things hard for me, oh, why?.."

Do I win a prize for annoying you? What is it?

Morrissey's "obsessive negativity combined with his sense of mission and delusions of significance is unique in my experience"

Who do you think he'd rather be trapped in a storm after an airplane crash with? You? Or me...?

Considering that "Autobiography" is so dreadful and badly written, how come you're now on your fourth read of it? Please do something more constructive with your time, and go away. Permanently, if you could possibly manage it.

Don't you have your own site to exercise absolutely stifling control over? How can you question why people are here? Talk about delusions of significance...

No, you don't annoy me, because ( and I would imagine I am not alone in this) I consider you someone best ignored and almost never read more than a few lines into your posts. Rather, you concern me. You don't like Morrissey? That's fine, lots of good people don't - from Henry Rollins to some of my best friends. I have my dislikes too. But the thing is, I don't seek out Sting boards and post 15 posts daily to the effect that the guy is insufferable. I can't imagine that doing so would be considered remotely of interest by Sting fans, and even less can I imagine why I would want to spend my time in that way. Since you seem to derive an unhealthy sense of satisfaction from your obsessive participation at this board, I just thought you should know, for your own good, that there are at least some of us who consider you somewhat pathological.

I agree Qvist. You'd be concerned for anyone that spends so much of his time obsessing over something they don't like, it's completely self destructive. He needs friends to tell him to sort his act out.

Do you know how many times I read Viz? Or The Diaries of Auberon Waugh? It's a funny book, a Comedy Classic.."pick up a Penguin" as the confectionary adverts used to go. There's actually some quality work hidden within the avalanche of drivel. Someone *might* set up a Twitter account to highlight the anecdotes/aphorisms that work. It's not Joyce or Proust, it's just bad writing from an undisciplined mind.

If you register with the site, you can choose to put me on Ignore. Did you not realise that? Yes, I could use my time more constructively, by stacking shelves in a supermarket, cleaning canals or washing surgeon's smocks. But that would take employment income from some young BrummieBoy or Manc-Lad who needs it to buy a few CDs each week. I'm rich, don't need it, and find great amusement in reading this book and reflecting on pseudo talent and fame. And 'fans'!

On what basis would I ever care about what a bunch of Morrissey cultist 'fans' think?

You claim you don't read my posts, yet they upset you? You *COULD* put me on Ignore, but "all you need is me debunking Morrissey. Let's see if you can be trained in online protocol: do you put me on Ignore or continue to tray and associate yourself with me vicariously, by proxy? Why do you do that? Do you think it elevates you to my level? It doesn't. I don't spend ages on this site. I'm a trained Canon Law stenographer and switch between this and other screens that have financial instruments to control, and porn, of course. You get a life, don't worry about my blissfully successful one. Or are you just jealous?

Hold on to your friends!

I have loads of friends, real friends. They LOL at this and LOL at Moz's antics when he's in Brum. It's a great night out at Symphony Hall, then Broad Street for a curry and to mock his silliness. He knows he can't get away with that crap with us BrummieBoys & Girlz. Charlie, you *could* just put me on Ignore, but all you need is me..debunking Morrissey and his fan cult.

Sorry to say it BB but you just come across as someone with issues and everyone ignoring them isn't going to help. Imagine what good you could do if you spent all the time that you do on here doing something positive instead? You're bright and could do a lot of good but nothing good will ever come of spending the amount of time you do on here musing over somebody you don't like.

Why does it matter if somebody likes Morrissey? Or even Britney Spears for that matter? They're just pop singers matey. There are things that matter in the World but what singers we like isn't up there is it? My advice, go and do something positive.

You are very annoying. Maybe I will put you on ignore.

Spot on, Charlie.
