While Pearl Jam got a 3/4 page spread heralding their visit to the 17K-seat Las Vegas MGM Grand Gardens Arena--a venue they nearly sold out--here was the listing for the Violent Femmes "concert" two days later:
Location! Location! Location! It's a modest seven miles south of the airport end of the Strip! Oh, hey! Isn't that Penn Jillette's sprawling magic estates further south??
Anyway, I guess recently I've worried about waning interest in Morrissey and what that might look like in the long run. I just hope M has the good sense to pack it up before he's booked Poolside at the South Coast Hotel.

Never heard of the South Coast Hotel Casino? Neither had I, and I've lived near Vegas almost all my life. I used Google maps to locate it. Here's a screenshot of the satellite aerial view of the place.
