Question Question about Redondo Beach

…just read that Patti Smith has been ill and forced to cancel her show tonight. Got me thinking about Redondo Beach.

Looking at the lyrics, does Morrissey’s version change much, lyrically?

In some places I am seeing the opening line written as “let it be known” - which is what I’ve always heard. But other places (including the wiki here) have it as per the original - “late afternoon”.

I’m sure there are other subtle changes throughout as well.

Yes ‘sweet suicide’ becomes ‘suicide’ and ‘another dimension’ becomes ‘there was no answer’ and some other minor changes too. Like both versions!
