The 'best Morrissey song' thing has perhaps been a bit overdone recently but it's 5.30am and I can't get back to sleep!
Would be interested to see everyone's top 10s of the recent stuff and which album/sessions most of the songs come from. I think my favourite recent Moz 'album' is the Quarry platinum b-sides thing. Of the three albums he's released this century, it's the only one that I don't feel the need to use the skip button on. It seems to have richer musical textures and more thoughtful (or just less grating) lyrics.
1. The never laid (that's the never played) symphonies
2. First of the gang to die
3. I'll never be anybody's hero now
4. It's hard to walk tall when you're small
5. Life is a pigsty
6. Friday mourning
7. Christian Dior
8. In the future when all's well
9. You know I couldn't last
10. A song from under the floorboards
