I have always wanted to grow a vegetable and fruit garden. But due to lack of skill, space, and ambition I have never succeeded in doing so—until now. Three weeks ago I procured two starter tomato plants and replanted them into a large pot on my porch. With only organic soil, nutrients, fresh air, sunshine, water, and loving care I have produced two fine plants with twenty small tomatoes. Five or so of the fruits have turned yellow. I cannot wait to take a bite out of a tomato that I have grown myself.

First the book, now a tomato garden. What's next? These little accomplishments do make life rewarding.

I'm on my way out the door—headed to my local library to persuade the gatekeeper there to add my book to their collection. Wish me luck.
