Or he needs to have more than one really good single on an album.
The fascinating thing about these results, is that even Quarry's 4th single is doing better than Ringleaders and Refusal's lead-off singles...
Good choices, there, I like all of those songs :)
For me it really wasn't very difficult, I'm all Quarry on this one:
1) First Of The Gang To Die
2) I Have Forgiven Jesus
3) Irish Blood, English Heart
Also really like:
4) You Have Killed Me
5) Let Me Kiss You
6) I'm Throwing My...
Singles-wise this has been Morrissey's most succesfull decade, with 5 singles making the UK top 10.
So what are everyone's favourite Morrissey-singles of the decade?
You all have 3 choices.
Not too keen on ROTT either, but at least it had some really good songs (eh, Pigsty, that is) and it felt like a coherent album thanks to Visconti's production. This one is just bland, although not without merit, of course.
I think Quarry is clearly the best of the decade, it stands head and...
Well, this is true for the entire album, I would say.
I find this song actually one of the most enjoyable of the album, especially the last minute or so.
NME have just published their top 100 albums an singles of the decade. No Moz album made it, but Irish Blood, English Heart made the singles-list at 98.
Morrissey’s truly great ‘comeback’ song, a stirring little nationalistic drama which comes across as impassioned rather than bombastic. It...

Except that Human being isn't on there, of course.
I like the idea behind a b-sides album, but if you do it, do it properly. Collect ALL the b-sides from a certain period (It's not like there wasn't room on the cd for the other 5 or 6), and if you must omit 1 or 2 let it be the live-ones, but...
If it fails to make the top 40 it would be his worst performing album ever, in the UK, and it will also mean that it will sell less than 6000 copies...
Those who accused him of Swords being another cash-in need to think again. What cash?
Of course a poll like that doesn't say anything. So 27 people say it's his worst. For all we know the other 118 people could think it's his best.
In terms of reviews, end of year-lists and sales ROTT certainly is much more popular amongst fans and critics than certainly KU, Maladjusted and...
No chance.
KU, Maladjusted an SG will, objectively, always remain Morrissey's 'ugly ducklings', though I like at least 2 of them more than Refusal.
Ringleader is better than all 4 of them, by a mile. Refusal has been my least listened to Morrissey album ever. I like the fist 2 songs, but...
5,0 of course! The best Morrissey album with Vauxhall.

Don't you feel this all is leading somewhere?
I mean, he could just say: No questions about The Smiths please, as Morrissey has done in the past whilst promoting an album.
