Yeah I am curious as to what happened to all of those unreleased songs from the Years of Refusal. I was assuming and still holding hope that Universal to squeeze out another dollar from Moz will put at least a few on a YOR deluxe edition
The Smiths- I Don't Owe you Anything
Meat is Murder- That Joke isn't Funny Anymore
The Queen is Dead- Never Had No One Ever
Strangeways Here we Come- Death at One's Elbow
Viva Hate- Ordinary Boys
Kill Uncle- Harsh Truth of the Camera's Lens
Your Arsenal- Tomorrow
Vauxhall and I- I am...
While I don't know for sure this seems legit. Also I am a bit sad if its true that Carol is not on the live track cd. That being said a quality live version of Life is Pigsty is lovely.
I think the title says it all frankly, we are a little under two months away and there has been no information on the release. Do you all think this means trouble for it? Or am I just paranoid here?
"two of them will go on the b-side of the single to promote Swords. another one is rumoured to be so strong that it's going to be released as a stand-alone, pre-Christmas single (with the remaining two songs on the b-side)."
Is this an actual rumor that you have heard? If so is said source...
Re: So, a new compilation album 'Swords'
I noticed a supposed October 27th release date, do you think this is credible?

Re: So, a new compilation album 'Swords'
I really am a bit more optimistic that we will see some new material on this. I think we stand a good chance that this will be partially a way to use some of the probably unused YOR b-sides, or at least this may get a single with a b-side or two.
At this point any unrecorded material will likely be saved for a presumably coming album. As per the remaining tracks my prediction is (hopefully) that one more singly will use up these remaining b-sides, though in all likelyhood it will probably leave one missing track that wont surface for...
I'd be hesitant to trust this ebay release not just because of the sketchy b-sides, I also distrust the cover at the moment. I am just hoping they release an official statement ASAP.
I'm just wondering if they do go for this 2 singles 2 countries approach wether they will have different b-sides on each, it could be an effective way to put out all the remaining recorded material thats left hidden.
I'm going to have to say that a return of Visconti would be stellar. He added a truly epic feel to ROTT. And I feel if he had been involved throughout the entire recording process something great could have been achieved.
A Rush and a Push and the Land is Ours
Something is Squeezing my Skull
Black Cloud
Nowhere Fast
When I Last Spoke to Carol
Satan Rejected My Soul
I Will See You in Far Off Places
I'm Throwing my Arms Around Paris
It's Not Your Birthday Anymore
Southpaw
Suedehead
Sorry Doesnt Help...
A solid ballad with decent wordplay, I find this track pleasing but it is certainly not the direction I was thinking. I am enjoying what are starting to be some stellar YOR b-sides.
