I live in oblivion and Kerouac seemed to have been dropped from the set for a few shows in a row now. I wonder how he decides.

He plays what he feels like - I think it's one of the best features of his tours, you get his real emotion.

I Live in Oblivion is a great new song but I also really like Sure Enough, the Telephone Rings. It’s punky & catchy. Sure, the lyrics are a bit basic & repetitive, & the song doesn’t go anywhere, but it’s a great blast of energy that doesn’t out-stay it’s welcome.

In fact, I see promise in all of the new songs & can’t wait to hear the album.

I Am Veronica is the one I feel least compelled to listen to, for some reason. Apart from the catchiness of the way the title is sung, it just leaves me a bit cold; the lyrics aren’t direct enough, & when he reaches the bit about fish & dolphins, or whatever, I’m just thinking “what are you talking about, Moz? This is a song about a prostitute, right?”
Veronica is an odd one. I think the best singing melodies are actually in the verse and the pre-chorus. The chorus melody is a bit dull. Yep, lyrics are indeed a mess.
At least in 'Rebels' we have a genuinely all-round great song...

I’m currently in bed drifting in & out of intermittent sickness sleep when I should really be at this gig.

I was really happy that I managed to book tonight off work & nab a ticket at face value on Sunday evening…at about the same time I started to feel my throat getting a little sore…

The past couple of days I felt gradually worse and then today, I awoke from a 12 hour sleep feeling like a reheated corpse.

Even up to the last couple of hours I was making myself dinner & forcing myself into the shower, attempting to gear myself up to head to the gig, but even listening to a podcast makes my throbbing skull ache so there’s no way I could stand in a crowd of people being blasted with extremely loud live music.

Absolutely gutted. I was so looking forward to hearing him sing so many of my favourite songs tonight…& with Alain back in the band; just as he was when I first saw Moz back in ‘91 & ‘92.

Anyway, I just hope the new album really is coming out soon & that he’ll tour again to promote it, playing a similar set-list in similar-sized venues.

I even thought about just turning up near the end of the set & entering the venue just in time to hear him play Please, Please, Please… but my poor head & body are not supporting this idea.

I hope everyone who attended tonight had a great gig & that plenty of pics & videos will be shared here…

Awww, I really feel for you. There is nothing worse.

I'm sure you'll be tickety boo if he undertakes a(nother) tour to promote BoT, once it escapes into the ether. I know you said you really wanted to hear PPP live. ☹️

I hope you feel much better soon!

Thank you.

Yes, Please, Please, Please…is an all-time favourite & I’d be so happy to hear him perform it live one day.

Just got back from the gig. Wow just wow what a gig. Great to hear some old favourites and the new songs , my god if that is what the album sounds like , it’s going to be a cracker. Has Alain written a lot of the new songs because it shows if he has.

This album was written & recorded before Alain returned to the fold, so no, he didn’t write any of these new songs. Him & Morrissey are collaborating again, though, so hopefully they’re writing another albums worth of great songs to follow the eventual release of Bonfire…

Well is Morrissey. The real king of England and alternative , post punk rock whatever you call his music. Enjoy !! He still very much alive. ( Regardless of the racist and prudes there ) .....I'll se you in the in the USA tour.

I don’t get rebels really....
is he saying that DB didn't get the applause he should have?
And that David J never either?
If so then Bowie had been praised all his career , whereas DJ got nothing..

Well - that was good fun. Genuinely one of the better gigs I've Seen him do in years... (12 years, 11 months etc, apart fron London Palladium 2018 where I suffered from minimal sleep - for a variety of reasons
Got to be honest the newer songs aren't going to get him a record deal but Little Man What Now ... First time in 20 years in UK?
Aftershow was a right laugh as well. My hangover 2moro won't be. Take care, nos dda

Yes, 20 years in November.
