Should Morrissey Have Called It A Day After "You Are The Quarry" ?

No, I don't think so.

In my opinion, YOR is better than Quarry and Ringleader has many wonderful moments too. I also doubt I (and others in my generation) would have "got into" Morrissey (I was 10 in '04) and would never have experienced him live.

Also, if he's enjoying himself (or as close to it as he ever comes) then why the heck should he have stopped?
 
Hmm, Let Me Kiss You is my favourite track from the past 10 years and it's probably really the only main one I like.
I wish he could go into his Smiths logbook and nick some "drafted" lyrics from the 80s and do something with them.
 
Once in awhile, I am out at a bar, with a lot of alcohol coursing through my system...

a song comes on and I find my index finger tapping along with the beat. Then I get depressed because I find out it was a Nickleback song.

That never happens to me...I, umm...swear.
