Rock Sound talks to Anti-Flag vocalist Justin Sane about the band’s latest album ‘The Bright Lights Of America’ and the inspiration behind it.
Interview by Pat McQueen
Why did you choose to work with Tony Visconti [Morrissey, David Bowie, T. Rex] over a younger producer?
“I’m a really big Morrissey fan. His last record, ‘Ringleader Of The Tormenters’, definitely took a different turn for him.So I looked at the producer’s name, and it was Tony Visconti. I had never heard of him, but I realized I had a lot of records in my collection that Tony Visconti made. I thought that he’d be interesting for us to talk to. The other guys agreed, we tracked his number down and gave him a call, and two weeks later he was in our practice space.”
