Video/Voice Morrissey Chat

Hey,

There is an excellent free chat area over at www.mplayer.com. You can type chat, voice(!) chat, draw on a co-op drawing board and even broadcast video (if you have a web cam). Whenever a Morrissey/Smiths chat room has been established, it has rocked.

People play rare Smiths/Moz songs over the voice line as everyone else is hanging out type chatting or drawing on the co-op drawing board. It's like an online Smiths convention! One fan ("Billy Budd") even hooked his vcr through his web cam and played an early Hacienda video.

The video was a bit choppy (maybe my crappy 56.6 connection) but for free I really can't complain. Anyway, any other fans that want to set up a room or come chat are welcome. I'll add a link below to mPlayer. You have to download some free software the first time you get on but then you just get on and goto the "seeme/hearme chat" area every time after that. The Morrissey/Smiths chatrooms are usually setup in the "OnStage" section of "Seeme/Hearme chat".

If anyone has a special time they are going to set up a Smiths/Morrissey chat, please post here. Thanks!

Thanks!

Great! No more hitting "reload" and I can actually see the Moz-studs (you know who you are ;-) I'm talking to!

Oi!

Downloaded the software this evening and tried it out. Excellent! Couldn't find a Morrissey chat room while I was on though but I went into some of the other rooms. Both the voice chat and video worked great for me. I don't have a cam but I could see video that other people were sending. Now I want a cam!

If anyone is interested I'm planning on setting up a room on Mplayer later this week. Final exams are over Thursday so I may set one up on Friday. I'll post the time and place on the board for anyone who wants to join the party. Let me know if anyone sets one up before. Maybe I'll bring my guitar and play a few Smiths tunes. Then again maybe that would scare everyone off!

Cheers,
Ken

mPlayer rocks! We should get "The Tender Hooligans" to perform some Smiths covers in an mPlayer chat room one night. Please post here or email me the next time someone is planning to set up a room.

I have a web cam with a video-in port and would be glad to broadcast some of my Moz/Smith bootlegs.

Viva Morrissey,
J.P.

Hi all, lets set up a time! Everytime I log in, there is no moz room.
