the reason why it matters whether morrissey worte the music or not is because in the long run he won't be remembered as a poet, but as a great song writer. lets be honest, morrissey in not a great poet; place him against an english poet, even a minor one like edward thomas, and he just cannot compete. its only through his wonderfull tunes that he will gain lasting fame, but take that away from him and all you are left with is a kind intellectual spice girl. next you'll be tell me he can't sing and he's been miming all his life. i don't like so!

You've taken this whole issue way to personal..... Myself and others were only stating facts - I'm sorry if you don't like to hear that, but the point certainly wasn't to take anything away from Morrissey. How can you take something away that he hasn't got?? And then the point I was also trying to make all along: IT BLOODY WELL DOESN'T MATTER to me whether he wrote the songs or not, they're great, the lyrics are great, Morrissey is wonderful and my biggest hero - but things just happen to be the way they are.....

Peace??
