Why was there no follow up Singles Box from "Panic" onwards?

I believe that Rhino had it planned but it was shelved and then superseded by the 'Complete' project.

Poor sales and/or blocked by Morrissey? Interesting how Moz was involved with the first singles box in at least doing the sleeve, yet had no involvement whatsoever with the Complete box, which was all Johnny.
And of course, now all he does is slag off the Smiths, and say how much better his solo material is.
Maybe something soured him around the time and he pulled the plug?

At the time, Morrissey was working on two projects with Warners (the Smiths boxet/Sound of the Smiths and the Live at the Hollywood Bowl DVD), but fell out with them. Some think this was because Warners had received a court order telling them to give any money Morrissey made to Mike Joyce, and they were planning not to ignore it. Morrissey tried to veto the Smiths releases but was unable. However, work on further releases was halted. By the time the dust had settled, things had moved on to the idea of Complete, which is why the second singles boxset never happened.
