Worst ever lyric, any artist

With an ironclad fist I wake up and French-kiss the morning

Your country is a wonderful place
It pales my England into disgrace
To buy a drink that is so much more reasonable
I think I'll go there when it gets seasonable

(Also a strange form of genius, maybe?)

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

it really bothers me that no one else seems to be put out by how bad these lyrics are. it's like, why would you give your heart to someone who isnt special? i mean, obviously you would only give it to someone special. and probably last christmas when you gave this person your heart, you thought they were special, and then they turned out not to be, so what makes you think this christmas is any different?? maybe instead of blaming the person for not being special after all, you should blame yourself for being a shitty judge of character! and furthermore why the f*** do you feel the need to give your heart to someone at christmas of all times?! that's not what christmas is about!! ugh, it's just SO SO BAD.

I found a love, for me
Darling, just dive right in and follow my lead
Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet
Oh, I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love
Not knowing what it was
I will not give you up this time
But darling, just kiss me slow
Your heart is all I own
And in your eyes, you're holding mine
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favourite song
When you said you looked a mess
I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it
Darling, you look perfect tonight
Well, I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home
I found a lover, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own
We are still kids, but we're so in love
Fighting against all odds
I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl, I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favorite song
When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful
I don't deserve this
Darling, you look perfect tonight
Baby, I'm dancing in the dark
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass
Listening to our favorite song
I have faith in what I see
Now I know I have met an angel in person
And she looks perfect
I don't deserve this
You look perfect tonight

also: i highjacked a rainbow and crashed into a pot of gold

slightly cooler i suppose than sliding down a rainbow into a pot of gold, because he highjacked said rainbow and crashed into said pot of gold, all of which is very badass. or something.

I want to kick him until he bleeds.

I guess I don't mind the deliberately cheesy ones as much as really profound stuff like:

You can't just leave me.
Breathe into me and make me real.
Bring me to life.
(Wake me up)

Wake me up inside.
(I can't wake up)
Wake me up inside.
(Save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark.

Save me from the nothing I've become.
Now that I know what I'm without.

I've had relations with girls from many nations

Yeah, Billy Bragg, no one believes that

General Public- Hot You're Cool
Husband sings this to me sometimes - inside joke - we both hate it

In a far far cooler light
This could seem too deep a bite
But the days too bright
Tonight's the night
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Show me my favourite beauty spot
Tie me up in a love knot
Boiling over bubbling up
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot hot hot
Hot legs against my chest
Stomach tight and wet
The very best
Yes you've guessed
You've guessed it
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Show me my favourite beauty spot
Tie me up in a love knot
Boiling over bubbling up
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot hot hot
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Show me my favourite beauty spot
Tie me up in a love knot
Boiling over bubbling up
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot hot hot
Hot hot hot hot
Just tell them they should no bother business
Tell them that it's out affair
Tell them nothing else exists
When I run my fingers through your hair
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot hot
Hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot
So hot you cool
So cool you hot
Hot you cool so cool
You hot hot hot hot hot hot hot

Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaken

But you see it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head
They are fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head
They are cryin'

In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey, hey, oh

Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou

MacArthur Park

… Spring was never waiting for us, dear
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
… MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no
… I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground beneath your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing Chinese checkers by the trees
… MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no
… MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left my cake out in the rain
And I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no, oh

"I've always thought of you as my brick wall
Built like an angel, six feet tall
Six feet tall
And when you go away, I start to weep
You're too expensive girl to keep
Isn't it sweet?"

- which is a shame because otherwise I love this song!

When I first heard this I thought he was saying 'My Renoir' like a work of art, not a brick wall, which is well, bad as you have pointed out
