I have taken over 900 pictures over the last couple of days with the new camera. This evening I was scanning through the photos and was drawn to some that I thought were very unique. But these had nothing to do with me, these were taken by my daughter.
She has been asking to use the camera and taking it from me throughout the trip. First, she and I went over the modes and quick settings. I told her to hold it with the shoulder strap around her. I trusted her and had little fear that she would break what I thought was an expensive camera. She would do her thing and then hand the camera back to me sometime later.
What struck me was the vision she has. What she was drawn to photograph. What effect she saw and tried to capture. The subtlety and contrast. I stared at them and wondered, I am seeing her vision of the world around her. She is totally not ordinary and I don't treat her as such. She shows me she can see further than any cold small streets can trap her.
