I blame morrissey, he must responsible for what happened, lulz. He's just jealous, thats all. Perfect song for the day.
But seriously, this was a very fast technical downtown course. This was a mechanical issue not a handling issue. This was the last corner and 250 meters before the finish. I was positioned pretty well for my sprint and had time to make my move which was going to be right then.
Why I do it. Just look at the exhilarating cornering and speed while you are at max exertion and wanting to just explode. My average heart rate for the race was 171 beats per minute. We were cooking the whole time. For me it is pretty much the same each time. There is the preparation phase (sometimes days, weeks or months), the event phase (one to six hours) and then the reflection phase (about a week). The phases together complete a circle within me. When you start phase one again you reach into the previous circle/s for experience to help you go through it again, but better.
Sometimes I think about what people do that is healthy mentally and physically for themselves. We all do something that another would scoff at. This is one of mine. What are yours and why?
