Yawn. Current society is rubbish, everything was so much better in my day. We get the message, Grandad.
I don't think anyone would argue that Morrissey wants control over certain things. The response from you and several other people on this board however, is ridiculously OTT to both this and several other posts recently. Morrissey's recent comments are remarkably similar to the remarks that he has made throughout his career.
As to why he dislikes this site, I think one look at recent threads shows that he was correct with his response to it.
Nonsense. What I wrote is not hyperbole, but irrefutable FACT. I get you don't like that. And again - he does not like this site because he has no control over it. And once more - what I wrote is FACT - if you think that is OTT, that's your issue, the facts speak for themselves.
Sorry but writing the word FACT in capital letters does not make it so.

OPINION. What you wrote is OPINION. And that's a FACT.
Yes it does. Because it is. Go back and pick out the bits that are not fact. You won't find them, because they're not there. You're sticking your fingers in your ears.
Do feel free to point out which parts of what I wrote is incorrect.
" he does not like this site because he has no control over it." OPINION.
Sigh. Sorry but when a person so trenchantly preaches to others, they are going to lose any respect they might otherwise have had.
Morrissey doesn't enjoy doing interviews. But let's not pretend that everyone he has done in recent years has been a car crash or that he is completely incapable of controlling what he says. He has always made controversial comments from the very beginning and nothing much has changed...
I will leave it there as I am not going to be dragged into a point scoring contest with someone who obviously has such a closed minded view of things.
Nope. That's a stone-cold fact. Try harder.
It's a stone-cold fact, because he told you?

What ranks as a fact in your world? 2+2=4? The Earth is round? Are you a flat-earther? Let's establish the degree of proof you require. Circumstantial, or a bloke told me?

So he didn't tell you then?
So he didn't tell you then?
You see the problem with your approach is this - just because someone may have told someone something doesn't make it true - did he really, really, mean it, and can you prove that about anyone? The evidence speaks for itself. You're doing some grade-A straw-clutching. The next time you're in a court, tell the jury that they can only decide on fact, not on their interpretation of the evidence in front of them. See how that goes down. I'll be back later to interpret your response.

It hurts when you're wrong. Doesn't it?

You tell me. Bye!

I have to agree with your observation. I could feel a sadness from his last performance 3 months ago. He is probably more aware of his mortality. I hope he knows how much he is loved.
Sigh. Sorry but when a person so trenchantly preaches to others, they are going to lose any respect they might otherwise have had.

Are you a Morrissey fan UncleSkinny?
Something has changed, and it has proved to be absolutely fatal for Morrissey's career. The Internet has come along. If Morrissey had said something particularly artless and idiotic on stage in 1985 nobody besides those in attendance would have heard it, and even if it was newsworthy, unless it was absolutely outrageous it wouldn't have gone beyond those walls.
If he said something artless and idiotic on stage in 2011, in Warsaw perhaps, it is around the world within the hour. The internet is a truly wonderful thing, but it has been a disaster for a certain Luddite, pseudo socialist, multi-millionaire. He grasped the business possibilities so late it has no bearing on his profit margins, used and still uses it unwisely, and worst of all, it has given the world an insight into his true self. It isn't pretty.
